Hey! This is a brief comparison of Apartments in The Sims now that For Rent updated them. I thought I'd experiment with voicing this one because it was too much text and it's something I've been meaning to explore, I'm already regretting it and wanted to just scrap it but I've done that before and it's time to actually try something different. Fun fact: I started this video over 2 years ago and thankfully I kept the footage this long, that's why Anne has long hair. I ended up refilming most of it but I'm glad I didn't release it cause I'd be repeating myself all over again.

I just want to remind you that Sims 4 took 2 expansion packs to get here, meanwhile, other games took just 1 expansion and said expansion introduced an occult (both lost to Sims 4's version but I think it's worth mentioning) a tiny part of me hoped Sims 4 would follow this trend and reintroduce Zombies but we're still as zombieless as we were back in 2014 :( oh well, anyways!


Which apartments do you prefer?

My opinion?

Sims 2 was the first and it did a great job, crazy how they could handle neighbors without the loading screens huh? I also like how much more useful the landlord is and how the neighbors are always going around so it never feels empty.

Sims 3 introduced a huge world and it was expected that such a big place couldn't handle complex apartments, these are the penthouse style and I think it's cool that you can actually live in the tallest buildings even if it's just a shell. But it lacks a lot of the things that make apartments apartments, there's no landlord, there's no sense of community, hell, there's no help at all! I do like the elevators tho, best version yet.

Sims 4 is very nice but the fact that it took 2 expansions to get there kind sours it for me. Don't get me wrong, I love how much better For Rent handled the landlord and the neighbors in particular. I like the new death too. I just wish all of that had been included in city living. But it's objectively improved.


So for me it's a tie between Sims 2 and 4, 2 for doing the best in one try and 4 for polishing it even to it took a second try.


But those are just my thoughts, how about you?
