Our dog ain't getting any younger and has recently had a few falls on the stairs so I was ordered to sort out a ramp for him asap. I looked around youtube for some ideas and its such a great resource for DIYers. So as I benefited from those who have gone before I thought I would put my ramp on here also.

The object of course is to minimise cost, maximise benefit to the dog but also not make it a permanent change as the dog is generally on limited time from here on as he will become more invalided in a relatively short time with arthritis etc and wont even be able to use the ramp in a year or two. I think this design addressed all of these requirements pretty well and matches the existing deck really quite well.

Hope this helps someone else with some ideas.


P.S. Unfortunately our old dog died in Late February 2020 from a tumor I am glad I was able to allow full access to our house and yard in those last few months with this ramp which he used right up to his last day. Vale Ben.
