South West Water has told Totnes MP Anthony Mangnall that a damaged air valve "may have allowed animal waste or contaminated groundwater" to enter Brixham's water supply.
There are dozens of confirmed cases of cryptosporidiosis an intestinal parasitic disease in the area. Many more unconfirmed cases are suspected, as Sky News' Dan Whitehead reports.
