Former Police Chief Ronald Wilson Charged with TWO accounts of Animal Cruelty. Mugsy and Lady, his PETS, suffered a horrible existance. They are currenlty recovering and receiving the care so desperately needed. While they continue to endure painful surgeries, their abuser is still FREE pending a trial or plea arrangement.
Wilson was the former Police Chief in OpaLocka, Florida.
A concerned citizen had seen the dogs living in his yard and contacted MiamiDade Animal Services. When they arrived, Wilson was away on a 10 day cruise, leaving his dogs outside to fend for themselves. Dezzys Second Chance Rescue was contacted and immediately took both dogs into their care for immediate medical care.
As you can see in the video, these dogs had suffered long term neglect, at the least, enduring multiple medial issues. The rescue is fully responsible for 100% of their medical care and rely completely on donations. Due to the legal issues of this case, Dezzys Second Chance could not discuss these dogs and their condition due to the pending arrest. The medical costs to this date are over $14,000. Mugsy's condition is so severe that he is not adoptable and will remain a permanent resident of the 5 acre rescue. Dezzys Second Chance does not want to separate Lady from Mugsy so she will remain with him.
