“And to All a Good Kite”
One last adventure for Gordon & Sebastian in 2023! I brought them with me to San Juan on one of my overnight trips for work.

This was filmed in the afternoon on December 21st 2023 in the open field in front of the Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery near Castillo San Felipe del Morro in Old San Juan. It’s so beautiful here! I love my overnights in San Juan but usually i’ve stayed off the beach. One of our other new hotels is closer to the city of Old San Juan and near the forts so I was finally able to see them!

I had a trip here earlier in the month before I filmed this and knew I was coming back later in the month so I had to bring Gordon and Sebastian with me to film something. I saw people flying kites, and I thought it would be an interesting idea to have Gordon fly a kite, of course calamity always has to end with Sebastian, so the plan was to have the kite crash into him.

Originally I was thinking of having the kite after crashing to Sebastian continue to fly in the sky with Sebastian still attached to it, but it would just be too difficult to puppeteer especially just by myself, but Sebastian was going to go for wild ride screaming to Gordon to get him down! I think this works well with just the crash though.

I’m really glad it turned out well and at least close to my idea! It Took about two hours to film and roughly a week to edit. As soon as I finished filming and got a few photos with the puppets it started to rain and I had to quickly gather up stuff and hide under a parking garage for a little bit but I’m glad I got all the footage I needed and the puppets didn’t get too wet.
