Located along the Seward Highway (Highway 1) in between Anchorage and Seward, Girdwood, Alaska is nestled within the Chugach Mountain Range and is known for its stunning natural scenery, outdoor recreational opportunities, and relaxed atmosphere.

The town is just on the outskirts of the Chugach State Park, which offers a variety of hiking, skiing, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Also home to the popular Alyeska Resort, this town transforms into a great skiing and snowboarding destination in the winter.

We hadn't planned on visiting Girdwood originally, but decided to drive in for a quick weekend and were surprised by the charm and the exciting festival (Forest Fair) that we found.
