“We will sleep under the trees; we are not afraid.”

An 80yearold Palestinian grandmother seeking shelter in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza declared that, despite the threat of forced displacement and Israel's attacks destroying their homes, they would stand firm and unafraid, even if they had to sleep under trees. She affirmed that she had water and bread, which would sustain them for a few days.

On 13 May, Palestinian journalists in northern Gaza reported that Israeli forces struck shelters hosting displaced people in Jabalia refugee camp, forcing hundreds of Palestinians to flee.
