Hi Everyone :)
Welcome back!

I get asked often: "Where did you get all this stuff?" My goal is to share the real magic of science and physics and to this end I will update here (and in my store) suggestions on where to get some of these toys, kinetic art pieces, and scientific curiosities for yourself.
Purchasing items from the links on these pages will help support my IG page of science and wonder.

This video contains :
Ambiguous Superhero Object: A very fun fan art 3D print which makes use of the ambiguous object illusion invented by mathematician Kokichi Sugihara a clever combination of reflection, perspective, and viewing angle.

Impossible Bottle with Arrow Sculpture Puzzle: a new seemingly impossible object in my collection Created with clever engineering.

Tapered 4Mirror Kaleidoscope: not CGI these images are produced by mirrors and light! Hidden within this colorful tube are 4 mirrors, 2 rolling glass spheres, and 1 dichroic glass reflector.

Polarization Test Card: light has features that are invisible to the human eye, such as the orientation of its electric field (denoted as polarization), but can be revealed to us by a polarizing filter, used to block light with specific polarization orientations.

Simple Polariscope: polarized light reveals the hidden rainbows due to internal stresses imposed on polymer materials such as these pieces of polystyrene flatware, a technique used to model stress distribution patterns in engineering.

Lampe Kino: Art from the manipulation of polarized light

Rock from Mars: an actual chunk of the Martian surface, a piece that was splashed into space long ago when an asteroid impacted Mars. In fact, the Mojave crater on Mars (3M years old, 60km in diameter) has been identified by researchers as the potential source of the rock you see here designated NWA 12269, a type of Martian meteorite called a shergottite. This is a 1.01g polished slice of the original 1.7kg meteorite which was found in 2018 Africa. Of the 65000+ classified meteorites in scientific databases, only 298 are known to have come from the Mars. Amazingly, small pieces of these meteorites, like this sample shown here, can be purchased.

Lenticular Flame Kinetic Art: “cool candle” whimsical acrylic kinetic sculpture inspired by a vintage lenticular flicker toy from the 1970s.

CMY Color Cube: cube within a cube illusion with the physics and psychophysics of color perception demonstrated with this acrylic art object.

Three Polarizing Sheets: quantum mechanical behavior with light polarization.

SpinForce Globe: entering through trap doors two spring powered toy cars hug to the inside of the acrylic sphere. Given sufficient velocity, the surface normal force supplies the centripetal acceleration that keeps the cars in their gravity defying trajectories.

Meteorite with CAIs: oldest known solid material in our solar system the white substance in this meteorite is called Calcium Aluminum rich inclusions (CAIs) and radiometric dating sets the formation time at 4.5673 billion years ago a few million years older than the rest of the meteorite material and thought to be the first solid compounds formed in the protoplanetary disk before the planets even existed.

Ring Catch Chain Trick: a solid ring will be caught by a loop of chain if it tumbles during its fall. By Newton's Third law, when the ring twists into and hits the chain, the impact transfers momentum to the end of the chain, which rises up and over the ring.

Vintage Blacklight Poster: a stunning psychedelic era poster from 1971 glows brightly under a vintage blacklight from the same year.

Moon Rock: an actual chunk of the lunar surface, a piece of regolith breccia that was splashed into space long ago when an asteroid cratered into the Moon a process not too uncommon as the escape velocity of the Moon is quite small. This piece went into orbit around the Earth and finally fell from the sky to land in Mali Africa.
