Chicken and Rice hotdish
Cream Cheese Bars
1 c. flour
1\3 c. butter
1\2 c. brown sugar
1\2 c. fine chopped nuts
Cut above ingredients together. Press half into 7x9(11) glass pan. Bake at 325 for 810 minutes.
Beat until smooth 8 oz. cream cheese, 1\4 c. sugar, 2 T. lemon juice, 1 egg, 1 t. vanilla, 2 T. milk. Pour into baked crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake at 325 for 1723 minutes. Cool completely. Next time I will definitely double this and bake in 9x13 pyrex. This was so yummy.

Marbled Sugar Cookies
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 1\4 t. vanilla extract
1 1\4 t. almond extract
1 egg
2 c. flour
1\2 t. salt
1\2 t. baking soda
1\2 t. cream of tartar
1 (1 oz.) square unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
Mix as usual for cookies except for melted chocolate. Once all mixed, drizzle chocolate over dough and cut in with knife to marble it. Roll into small balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 810 minutes. These taste like Christmas!!
