Israel has banned Al Jazeera after weeks of standoff between prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Qatarowned channel. Netanyahu has accused Al Jazeera of endangering Israeli soldiers and acting as a "mouthpiece" of Hamas. Israeli officials raided Al Jazeera's offices in Jerusalem and seized equipment after which the channel's broadcast was stopped. Qatar, which funds Al Jazeera, also funds the Palestinians terror group Hamas. Jewish groups have accused Al Jazeera of antisemitic reportage and holocaust denial. Recent opeds and social media posts by Al Jazeera reporters have also praised Hamas for the attack carried out on October 7th. Palki Sharma tells you more.
