Airport Security: 5 things officers want passengers to do in the TSA line not PreCheck:

1. Have your ID and boarding pass ready to present at the checkpoint. TIP: because of new technology, your airport may not need both.

2. Pack liquids in 3.4 ounce containers, all in a clear, quartsized bag. You do not have to pull it out in most US airports now.

3. Remove any outerwear in most airports still. So untie it from around your waist too.

4. Empty your pockets: Before going through the metal detector, empty your pockets into your carryon bag. This ensures a smoother screening process and avoids setting off the alarm.

5. Do not be super chatty. It slows the line.
