Since 2011, it is estimated that 10,000 baby boomers turn 65 every day in the United States. That trend will continue for the next decade. At the same time, Americans are living longer than ever before. Experts project that by 2020, there will be more people over aged 65 than children under the age of 5, an unprecedented milestone in human history. By 2050, the number of individuals over the age of 65 will nearly double what it is today.

The aging of our population will impact every aspect of our lives. In this ninth edition of Aging Matters, NPT looks at one of those – work, and explores what effects an aging demographic will have on our lives on the job.
