Join me as I start a new acrylic painting inspired by winter's icy beauty and the unique look of snowflakes. Fresh from a holiday at Disneyland Paris, I’m back with lots of ideas and a love for Prussian Blue and silver's shine. Moving away from the gold I usually add, I want to capture the calm, crisp feel of winter in this acrylic painting tutorial.

In this piece, I’m drawing fifty snowflakes, each one different, onto the canvas. They come together around the biggest snowflake in the middle, making you want to stop and see every little detail of this cold, beautiful world.

As I paint, I’m just going with the flow, led by what I’m thinking and how the paint goes onto the canvas. It feels great to just see where it takes me, like finding out that gold and Prussian Blue turn into a surprising green, or choosing to leave out copper for colors that match better for this kind of acrylic flow painting.
