UPDATE: My AC worked for 3 weeks before failing again. it is the same issue as before. I intend to make a new video with a more detailed how to process. I will actually do a replacement so you can see how to remove the old clutch assembly and reinstall while mounted in the vehicle. also, I'll show a few new ways you can test the clutch (without having to take off the wheel cowl). R&Y compressors has been a big hassle to work with on the warranty. they are trying to force me to return the whole compressor. instead of letting me just warranty the clutch coil. I plan on ordering a new AC clutch assembly from them for $140 in hopes it won't fail as quickly. I will link the new video once it's posted.**

Do you own a 20172024 Chrysler Pacifica that doesn't have air conditioning? you check under the hood and notice the AC compressor isn't turning on. you run to the forums only to be told you're gonna need a new compressor, and it's gonna cost you 10001800 dollars to replace. This video should help you better understand what's going on, how you can test your own car, and give some insight into how you can replace the AC clutch coil.

That's right, there's a good chance the issue is just an AC coil. The AC coil is what pulls in the clutch and engages the compressor. Mechanics don't get paid to diagnose problems. they only make money when they replace parts. when they see a compressor not turning on, they are gonna quote a whole new compressor. this requires replacing the refrigerant, and a lot more labor.

replacing the AC coil, clutch and pulley costs $140. You don't have to remove refrigerant, or try to pull out the compressor. it is still difficult due to access restrictions, but definitely doable. I show what tools are required for the job, and use a mock compressor to show how I removed the clutch assembly. I don't however show the removal in real time. I had already performed the repair and didn't record the process. I am happy to report it worked! The van is blowing ice cold air again, all for $140 dollars rather than $1800.
