CLARIFICATION: Many questions are received regarding the wing fracture. The patient was euthanized due to the nature of the injuries. Aside from the oblique fracture of the left humerus, a complete tendon rupture in combination with aged extensive damage to the muscle tissue was found. Treating this injury would be impossible. The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and The Swedish Animal Welfare Act prohibits wild animals from being permanently placed in captivity, in wildlife parks, educational centers etc. Amputation is not allowed and would be an illegal act in Sweden.
