I finally won the squirrel challenge! Since putting this up in the spring , not a single squirrel has made it to the bird feeder instead of their own! Build a simple but very effective squirrel barrier. This design is adaptable to almost any kind of feeder.

We love the squirrels, but they were eating all of the suet and not leaving any for the birds. You too can keep them out of the bird feeder for under $20 and a couple hours of easy work.

The suet feeder we are using is from Wild Birds Unlimited, but they don't have it online and not every store carries them. I highly recommend this feeder since it excludes starlings and grackles very effectively.
