This is a quick explanation of how to arrive in Poland and get to Kyiv. The basic outline is to fly into Krakow Poland, take a train to Przemysl Poland, cross the border into Ukraine, then take a train to Kyiv or Lviv. Depending on when you arrive in Poland you may want to stay the night in Krakow. The train from the Polish border stops after a certain time of night. If you arrive in Przemysl and you are not able to get on a train you may have to wait 8+hours at the train station and there is a very limited number of shops and restaurants and they close fairly early. It is always recommended to have a backup stash of snacks but it is pretty rough waiting in Przemysl after hours. You could just get some rest and take the early train to Przemysl in the morning.
