A Peaceful Weekend

Follow
Rachel Talbott

Welcome back to my channel. The weeks have been very busy around here. It was nice to have a quiet weekend evening to reflect, enjoy some tea, catch up on projects, work in the garden, have an "at home" cozy dinner date with my husband, and finish off with a warm shower and a good book!!
I hope you enjoy watching!

Replenish my mint tea jar Every few weeks I like to dry more of what we're growing for tea blends. These mint leaves will take about 6 hours to dehydrate in this dehydrator.
I like to hang herbs to dry the old fashion way, but the Excalibur herb & fruit dehydrator is great for quick processing. I don't have to worry about the leaves getting moldy. We love ours a use it to make so many things (dried fruit, fruit leathers, seasonings, herbs etc etc..) It's great for quick and easy processing and drying. My husband recommended we save up for this one as it's what he used when he worked in kitchens.

I love my stove top safe "Tea Bloom" glass tea pot. I like to infuse my own herbs for a pot of tea. I do mint in the morning, and lavender, lemon balm, or catnip blends before bed. Today I'm using one the "Tea Blooms" that came with my tea pot.. Isn't it beautiful? It turns from a tea ball to a beautiful blooming flower. I thought these would be fun for a tea party or a fun get together with a friend.

DIY Seed Box Since we started collecting seeds from our farm, I needed a box to organize all of them!! I took this box that I found in our barn (we had kept it from the previous owner who left it inside the house).. I found a fun Pinterest board from Hearth & Vine with the idea of retro seed packets for decor. She shared a group of public domain free print outs.. I thought they would be PERFECT for the seed box!

I decided to organize our seeds in compostable seed envelopes. We have seeds for next year + some extra packets to share with friends and family who want to grow or exchange seeds!

I also keep my garden planner in this box. It contains sketches of our gardens, what we're growing+ plan to grow, farm budget, pressed herbs & flowers, and also Materia Medica (which I'm learning about in my herbal studies course through @HerbalAcademy .. I will share more about my farm/garden planner soon!

Almond Cow sent me their product to test out, and I've been absolutely loving it! I can make plant based milk for the week in minutes! Oat is my personal favorite, but you can make soo many different drinks and treats with this machine! My kids love it too! I will share some more fun recipes soon!!
