Five baby racoons were living at the bottom of a chimney with their mother. These babies are around 6 weeks of age and are beginning to be mobile.

Babies born at the bottom of a chimney won’t start foraging with their mother until they are much older than babies inside an attic. This is due to the climb to the top of the chimney being very advanced for a young raccoon.

Watch how difficult it was for us to grab the babies from inside the damper and how much of a handful they are!
