Homer is one of the better known towns in Alaska. Sitting at the southern end of the Sterling Highway, it is home to about 6,000 people number that goes much higher when tourists, fishermen and cruise ship passengers flood the town in the summer. It is being the end of the land quite literally to continue your travel you would need to take an Alaska Marine Highway ferry. There's a symbolic monument over there to mark the end of the road.
