Rough sleepers and homelessness are not a common sight in developed countries like Singapore.

Uncle Yip shares his story of why he had to live on a bench. We dive into who he was before he lost his home, and the physical and emotional challenges of being homeless, as well as the social stigma that comes with it.

Update
Since the publishing of this video, we have received additional information from volunteers in the constituency who have worked with Mr Yip over the years.

This is the latest information we have:
Volunteers and MP have secured a rental unit for Mr Yip. However due to personal reasons, he prefers to sleep at the void deck.

Mr Yip is currently in the middle of a move to a new Govtissued rental flat (with the help of volunteers)

In addition, we are currently in touch with Mr Yip and fellow volunteers to gain a better understanding of ways we can offer better support to him and others facing similar challenges.
