Hello and welcome to 80/20’s product highlight series. Today we’ll be taking a look at the locking hinges. These hinges are perfect for connecting doors to a frame, or locking them into position. These are easy to install and available in both fractional and metric.

Now one thing you’ll want to keep in mind when using this hinge is that although machining isn’t required, bolt assemblies will be needed. More information on 80/20’s recommended bolt assemblies can be found in the 80/20 product catalog.

Now when it comes to installing this hinge. We’ll start by preloading the hinge, and we’ll do that with one last bolt and one last Tnut. Once we’ve got that on there, we’ll grab our frame and we’ll install half the hinge, sliding it right into an open Tslot. Find the location we want and tighten it down.

Once we’ve got that, we’ll grab the other profile, and we’ll slide it onto the other half of the hinge. We’ll get the location down, and we’ll tighten that down as well. Now once we’ve got that into position, we’ll go ahead and lock our hinge into position with our handle, tightening it down firmly.

Now once last thing we want to tell you about this hinge, is that it’s also available in a slotted version, to give you more flexibility in your positioning.
