ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: Household Foods That Get Rid Of Dog Worms
There are generally four types of worms dogs can become infected with and these are:
• Roundworms
• Hookworms
• Tapeworms
• Whipworms

Roundworms live in the small intestine, look like spaghetti, can grow several inches or more in length and their microscopic eggs are easily picked up from infected animals.

Look out for a pot belly, lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, a dull lifeless coat and possible weight loss with larger infestations.

Tapeworms can be very long flat worms attaching themselves to the intestines and you may notice broken off tapeworm segments in your dogs stool looking like small grains of rice.

Tapeworms can mean your dog wares a dull coat with possible appetite and weight loss.

Whipworms colonize the mucus membrane lining in the colon and feed on blood. Adults can be several inches long and flat at one end and the eggs are picked up from other dogs stools.

Whipworms can mean your dog has diarrhea, vomiting and/or weight loss.

Hookworms live mainly in the small intestine, grayish in color and grow to around 3/4 of an inch.
They contain a small hook that attaches to the dogs intestinal lining and feeds on blood.

Hookworms can mean diarrhea and vomiting and can be passed on via mother's milk which can also mean a puppy suffers chronic diarrhea and possible anemia, weakness, lethargy and pale mucus membranes.

Adding certain foods to the diet really helps to keep worms under control. With this in mind, here's 7 foods that repel worms. Begin slowly with all the foods if your dog’s not used to eating vegetables or fruit, and work up to the recommended dose.

Number 1 is kefir. Kefir is an excellent food source for dogs, containing a huge probiotic profile, vitamins and minerals. You can make your own kefir at home or buy at the health food store or supermarket.

Give small dogs 12 tsp a day, medium dogs 1Table spoon per day and large dogs 2 table spoons per day. You can add kefir to your dogs meal or give as a snack.

Number 2 is vegetables. You can buy or make fermented vegetables such as sauerkraut or kimchi. Start slow and work up to 2 teaspoons per 15lbs of your dogs body weight per day.

Number 3 is Pumpkin seeds. They are safe and effective at controlling worms, simply grind the seeds and give a 1/4 teaspoon per 10lbs of your dogs body weight daily.

Number 4 is Papaya which contains papain, an enzyme that helps repel worms. Give your dog one tablespoon per 10lbs of body weight per day.

Number 5 is garlic, safe to give dogs and highly beneficial in repelling worms. Simply fine dice 1 clove of garlic, allow to sit for 15 minutes to increase its healing properties and give a 1/2 tsp per 15lbs of your dogs body weight.

Number 6 is Coconut oil, great for roundworms. Give your dog 1tsp per 10lb of your dogs body weight per day.

And number 7 is apple cider vinegar. Make sure to get raw organic and unfiltered apple cider vinegar and give a small dog 1 tsp added to drinking water, a medium dog 2 tsp's and a large dog 1 table spoon added to drinking water daily to repel worms.
