6000XP VS Low Frequency Inverters. There's no contest.

Even with the discounts that Chinese manufacturers are offering, you’re literally throwing your money away when purchasing a low budget high frequency inverter that's available on today's market. The old saying, "Buy cheap, buy twice" rings especially true when buying these low budget high frequency inverter products. You may save some money up front when purchasing a high frequency inverter but you'll end up spending far more money in the end buying replacement inverters due to the short life expectancy of this type of inverter technology.

NEVER buy any inverter until you have confirmed that it includes low frequency, transformer based inverter technology in its design. With over 24 years of experience in the inverter repair industry, we know from experience that the vast majority of low cost, lightweight, Chinese made, high frequency inverters on the market simply don't last. Especially when powering inductive loads like refrigerators, microwave ovens, portable air conditioners, power tools, motors, washers and dryers.

As demonstrated by many of the paid, high frequency inverter hucksters on YouTube, You may be able to start some of these inductive loads when your high frequency inverter is new, but over time, typically after less than two years of repeated use, your lightweight, high frequency inverter WILL fail.

With only a 200% surge capacity, high frequency, transformerless inverters like the 6000 XP are simply not designed for repeatedly starting and running high inductance loads. For example, the 6kW, 6000 XP cannot start a 6kW motor load. A much better choice if you plan on powering inductive loads, would be to purchase an inverter that uses low frequency, transformer based technology in its design. Low frequency inverters can handle high surge loads for at least 3x (300%) their continuous rated capacity and they can do this repeatedly, without sustaining damages to their MOSFET transistors, for minutes, rather than the milliseconds that a high frequency inverter offers. That's why the big name brand inverter manufacturers like Schneider Electric, Sigineer Power, Outback Power, Magnum Energy, Victron Energy and others, all use a low frequency topology in their design.

Another consideration that is never mentioned by YouTube, inverter salespeople, is that the vast majority of these low budget high frequency inverters are difficult and costly to repair. Even before the warranty runs out, many consumers will not be able to afford to ship these units back (most of these manufacturers don't have US based service centers) to the manufacturer in China and have them repair or replace them. And at a typical shop rate of $125 per hour here in the US, with no schematic and limited parts availability, it won't makes economic sense to even attempt to repair one of these units.

Once the FETs have fried and have burned a good portion of the inverter's PCB, (And trust me, sooner rather than later, they will fry.) they basically become an expensive brick. A far better alternative is to invest less money and purchase a hybrid (MPPT solar charger included), low frequency, transformer based inverter charger and a few LFP battery and build your own reliable, higher peak power solar system. Low frequency transformer based solar generators last many years longer than the high frequency inverters, and can easily power high surge loads without being damaged and without damaging your appliances.
