6 bike rack over tonneau cover

I designed and built this bike rack myself to be able to carry 6 bikes above my tonneau cover. I'm still able to fold up the far rear panel of my Bak Flip Tonneau cover.

Process:
I measured from front to rear stake pocket, and cut the 7' tubes to length. I used the left over material to make 1.5x1.5.x1.5 blocks for the ends. This lifted the rails up off the bed sides. I spot welded the blocks so they would stay. I drilled holes through the ends of those rails to line up with where the pocket tie down blocks would be. I had to trim a little bit of the rubber to make them fit. I ran the 6" x 3/8" bolt through all of it and tightened it up. I placed the cross rails (6ft tubes) across and found a suitable spot. This took a little time to find where the front wheels of the bikes would be, sliding things around to be able to still open the last panel of my Bak Flip 4 Tonneau Cover. Drilled holes down through the crossbars and the bed rails. Ran 4" x 3/8" bolts down through and finished them off with knobs instead of nuts. I used Dawn soap and some steel wool to prep the steel for paint. Rustolium black semigloss in a shaker can, just go slow to prevent drips. I assembled it all together. Spacing for the bike holders is 12.5" on center, alternating forwards and backwards. But the same for each side, so the middle two end up both facing forward.

Below is the shopping list for the items needed:

Steel:
1.5"x1.5"x1/8" 2 at 6 ft and 2 at 7ft
