This video shows how to install the 1/4" 5052 aluminum rear bumper from Coastal OffRoad on a 2020 Toyota 4Runner that includes a steel gas can/NATO can swingout. Using aluminum MIG welding to fit and weld together. Then grind/DA or sand before powder coating. Then install the bumper, hardware, and gas can swing out. The weight difference between the 3/16" steel bumper and the 1/4" aluminum bumper IS HUGE ALUMINUM BASE BUMPER WEIGHT (77 LBS) STEEL BASE BUMPER WEIGHT (155 LBS) Big thanks to Coastal OffRoad for coming up with the design, precutting the metal, and providing the parts needed! It worked very well and only a small amount of grinding for optimal fit was needed! Super impressed with the Miller Multimatic 220 and the spool mate 100 welding gun.
If you don't purchase the tire swing out you'll have to make some minor adjustments for the hitch do to the spare tire being in the way underneath. The aluminum brackets and termination plate for the NATO can holder were placed where they fit/operated the best. The tubing side hoops that help push your 4runner away from trees and other obstacles were left off as these are optional. Reverse LED lights were installed later.
