Summer time auto detailing is made way more difficult than needed when using hard water... Deionized water is a God send for detailers growing their business, but what do you do when you don't have the money to invest in a DI water system? In this video we walk through 5 simple solutions:

1) Shade plays a vital role in summer time detailing for obvious reasons, and the more maintenance clients you build into your detailing business, the more you can actually time the shade based on the house where you are detailing. Simple, and obvious, BUT extremely helpful.

2) For those less able to time the shade, you can BRING YOUR OWN SHADE! A properly sized auto detailing canopy is a simple solution for those whose hard water is flash drying on the paint. You will still need to work quickly, but manufactured shade is absolutely better than no shade at all.

3) CERAMIC COATINGS & MAINTENANCE CLIENTS have the potential to eliminate your water spot problem. These days I only detail for my maintenance clients that I see again and again, and that means they're vehicle's paint is protected before I even wash it. This also means that the water rolls off the paint before it has time to dry... there are more than just monetary benefits to building your detailing business off of REGULAR clients...

4) Chemical intervention! While this is not talked about very much in the detailing world, there are some amazing chemicals (often used at commercial car washes) that will create a hydrophobic layer on your car's paint that will inhibit water spots from forming! This is a fantastic solution for the mobile detailer struggling with hot black paint!

5) If you can't prevent water spots, you may be able to easily fix them. Surface level water spots (relative to etched water spots) are actually not that difficult to correct if you find yourself inevitably getting some on the paint after a wash. Meguiars wheel brightener (acidic) diluted around 5:1 or 10:1 is a simple and effective way to remove surface water spots without even trying. This chemical is NOT SAFE FOR GLASS OR ANY SURFACE WITHOUT A MODERN CLEAR COAT!
