šŸ”„ 5 Ways to Use The Future Continuous Tense in English

A lot of students have commented requesting a lesson about the future continuous tense... So here it is!

You probably know that the present continuous tense looks like this:
I AM working
I AM leaving

To form the future continuous, we simply change I AM ā†’ I WILL BE, so it looks like this:
I WILL BE working
I WILL BE leaving

It couldn't be simpler!

The tricky part, as always, is knowing when to use this tense, so in today's lesson I'm going to teach you the 5 different ways we use the future continuous.

ā–ŗ LESSON NOTES: WHEN TO USE THE FUTURE CONTINUOUS:
1. When weā€™re describing a situation when a specific moment the future:
Iā€™ll be watching the game at 9pm
This time next week I will be travelling to Mexico

2. Predicting or guessing about future events.
Youā€™ll be feeling tired after that holiday.
I will be sleeping when you arrive.

3. In the interrogative form, the future continuous can be used to ask politely for information about the future:
How many nights will you be staying?
Will your boyfriend be coming to the wedding?

4. To talk about continuous events that we expect to happen in the future:
Iā€™ll be seeing Pete tomorrow so Iā€™ll ask him then.
Next year Iā€™ll be working for a different company

5. When used with "still", to talk about events that are already happening now and that we expect to continue for a long time into the future:
Heā€™ll still be living with his parents when heā€™s 50
Youā€™ll still be eating that bowl of spaghetti at bedtime
