My first real savings goal was 10,000 and I got to my goal is about 6 months, and in just a few months I spent all the money on trash and had to start over. So my first piece of advice to you, before we even start this video is, know why you want to save 10k, because I know you can save 10k but if you don’t know why, you will most likely waste it

1. Lets save you $3,000 dollars a year with one Device
Go to your iPhone, app store, subscription, and cancel all the subscriptions you don’t need and I’m not done
Go safari, type in mint mobile and you pay $15 for an unlimited phone plan ( I’m still not done )
Go to your banking app and check the last two months of your transaction history and look for recurring bills and cancel them

Just like that:
You can save $200$500 extra dollars per month depending on how wild you are
And that adds up

2. Pause this Video ( take 10 minutes to look around your house )
Look for all things that you don’t use anymore and you don’t need
And if you use it but don’t need it, that’s okay you can add it to the list
When I did this a few years back, here was what was on my list

Facebook:
Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4
About 10 pairs of Jordans ( I only have two feet )
And a bunch of random stuff

This doesn’t seem like much but this got me a little over $1,000 in think

3. Stand up and go to the kitchen ( I know I’m asking you to a lot but these are things you can do right now)
Do you have these meal prep bowls
I want you to start meal prepping

4. Plan your next vacation: Grab a tablet or open a new tab on your phone
First I want you to open up a new online savings account ( high yield or even a debit card is fine)
I use the Discover It debit card and I want you to plan out your budget for your next vacation
How does spending money save you money

Well its my belief:
That a lot of people overspend on vacation and use credit cards like crazy
So if you can budget your vacation and let's say you plan to spend $2,000 for a 7day vacation
And it’ll be in the next 6 months ( save about $85 every week )

This way:
When you go on vacation you don’t come back in debt
Or overspend cash you don’t have
And this way you have something to look forward to

5. Grab your Paystub or look at your direct deposit from your banking app
How much money did you make this month
If you get paid weekly $1,000 and got $4,000 this month that’s pretty cool or whatever it is
So go online again and open up a high yield savings account ( yes another one )

Here the rule:
For every $100 you make save $20 and you can keep half of what left for having fun
For example you made 633 this week, for every 100 you save 20, so you have to save $120
Left is $33 you take it all for fun or you can take it for expenses or you can take it for whatever you like

Alternative is for $100 save 10
But this is pretty low
