It's very easy to make beginner ADV riding mistakes when you're a new ADV or dual sport motorcycle rider. Unfortunately, as riding motorcycles in the backcountry is inherently dangerous, there are some pretty big potential consequences to making new ADV rider mistakes, so I've done my best to put together a list of 5 more new dual sport riding mistakes to avoid so that you can get out there, be self sufficient, and contribute to any group you ride with.

These 5 beginner ADV riding mistakes are:
1. Not staying hydrated
2. Not being selfsufficient
3. Not knowing the ADV riding route
4. Not knowing or following ADV group riding rules
5. Not riding your own ride

Following these basic rules of ADV riding will make you a safer rider and ensure that you are able to contribute to any group you ride with.
