This classic five level Nevada silver mine was a great explore for us. We started by looking through two cabins, one a bunkhouse and one for housing equipment. Shortly after entering the main adit we came to a hoist room, above a winze shaft, that was framed with beautiful natural unmilled timbers. There has been a fire in the hoist room, but it didn't do a lot of damage. We followed the main level finding several chutes, ladders and another inclined shaft going down with ladders that were broken beyond use. We backtracked to the first shaft and started to descend the ladders, which are in good shape. We checked out all four of the lower levels and found interesting artifacts on all levels including a wood dynamite box and unexploded sticks of dynamite.
This silver, lead, gold, copper and zinc deposit was discovered in 1865. The mine was worked off and on until at least the 1940's.
