5 facts about Sanderlings: Your familiar Beach Sandpiper!

Artic summer nesting Sanderling Sand pipers are found on beaches worldwide and may migrate up to six thousand miles. They are a familiar site to beach goers around the world. With boundless energy and speed they run back and forth in front of waves as they forage the rich wavebreak zone as they move up and down the beach with the tides. They are so fun to watch as they run down the beach with a receding wave and run back up the beach with next incoming wave. In this video I describe five amazing facts about the biology of these energetic and amazing birds.
