5) Hairy Frogs & Salamanders

The Xmen mutant wolverine is one of the most popular characters in the comics.

His ability to self heal & control claws that come out of his hands are pretty cool super powers.

However hairy frogs & salamanders can do the same thing.
Well, kind of the same thing.

Hairy Frogs can break their bones, and push them out through their toes to make claws.

While the Salamander can regrow whole limbs.

In other words, Wolverines mutation does kind of exist in the animal kingdom.



4) Lyrebirds

The Lyrebirds ability is truly amazing.

It can accurately mimic any noise it hears, from car alarms, camera shutters, saws, and more.

We all know parrots can hear words and say them back, but the Lyrebird is basically a microphone and speaker.

3) Dragon millipedes

With a name like Dragon millipede you just know whatever their ability is its going to be dangerous.

These little creatures can shoot cyanide at their predators.

Poisons in the animal kingdom is nothing new, but most venomous animals need to make do with injecting their venom into their prey.

The dragon millipede doesn't, it just needs to aim, shoot and kill.



2) Bombardier beetles

Another small creature with an amazing weapon.

The Bombardier beetle can essentially shoot out a jet of boiling liquid & gas at its attacker.

The process is incredibly amazing.

A chemical reaction takes place inside the beetle, where it turns hydrogen peroxide into oxygen gas and water.

It then opens up a valve and can release the boiling fluid at an incredible speed in various directions.



1) Electric eels

One part of their name is a lie.

Is it the electric, or the eel?

Well they are definitely electric and can produce electric shocks of up to 600 volts.

But they are not eels.

In fact they are knifefish.

Although most people have heard of electric eels and view them as no big deal, their actual super power is truly amazing.

Imagine being able to produce 600 volts at given point, as an attack or defense its definitely comic book.
