There’s no doubt that we Singaporeans are extremely proud of our hawker culture. Everywhere we go, there’s bound to be a hawker centre, teeming with hungry locals and tourists alike.

That said, however, there is one hawker centre which stands out from the rest, being one of the oldest out there. No need to look up the AtoZ list of hawker centres in Singapore, because I’m talking about ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre.

This hawker centre has stood the test of time, with a history dating back to the 1970s. Here are 10 musteats in ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre which are worth the trip there!

The love story behind Wow Wow West in ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre is certainly heartwarming.

Run by a young husbandandwife couple, they serve up Western dishes done localstyle in Bukit Merah.

The stall’s Fish & Chips 鱼扒套餐 (S$8) came with a surprisingly huge fillet of deepfried fish. With a batter that was remarkably crispy, the moist and flaky meat made for a delicious, allrounded bite.

They’ve also paired this delicious fish with a generous dollop of their housemade mayonnaise sauce. Tangy and decadent, it certainly went very well with the freshness of the fish!
