The Monastery of the Holy Sepulcher is a Franciscan monastery located in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington D.C. The Monastery of the Holy Sepulcher is the US representative of the Franciscan province of the Custody of the Holy Land.

Dedicated in 1898, the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America is one of the most beautiful places in Washington, DC.

Situated on a verdant hillside in Northeast Washington, the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land contains replicas of Holy Land shrines, as well as Roman catacombs.

The Franciscan Monastery is the U.S. home of the Holy Land Franciscans, who have cared for the people and sacred shrines of the Holy Land for 800 years.

Forty acres of gardens surround the church to provide an oasis of serenity for pilgrims and others seeking a respite for meditation, as well as place of natural beauty. The gardens are renowned for the formal rose beds, and there are also shrines and chapels interspersed among the flowers, ornamental plants, and trees.

How does an organ make sound?

An organ is a musical instrument that produces sound by forcing compressed air (called wind) through the pipes of the organ, selected using a keyboard. Because each pipe produces a single pitch, the pipes are divided into groups called ranks, each of which has a common timbre and volume across the entire compass of the keyboard.
