Racer
Slipstream is almost as good as nitrous for increasing your speed.
Slipstream increases your speed while earning you nitrous.
You can slipstream cops as well as other racers.
Tap the brake then get back on the gas for agressive drifting idealfor hairpins and sharp turns
Explore Shortcuts to learn the fastest routes
Anticipate turns. Keep an eye on your map to stay ahead of the game
Performing more driving skills increases your Bounty gained in the race.
Fill your nitrous fast by drive in oncoming lanes, getting close to traffic, slipstreaming, using shortcuts and drifting. (aka racing Skills)
Nitrous is most effective when you're not turning. Save it for the straights.
Nitrous works best when you're accelerating. Dont waste it when youre close to top speed.
Expert racers use nitrous on the exits to turns to get to top speed fast!
Steer clear of other racers. Smashing them off the road is fun but it wont get you to the finish line faster.
Don't drift if you dont need to. You'll take corners faster if you can hold the line.
Stick to the tarmac in lowslung exotics. They aren't built for off road driving.
Stick to the right hand lane while drifting through blind turns. You never know where you'll find stray traffic.
Off road route feature well worn tracks. Stay on these to go faster.
Know your route. Not all side routes are shortcuts
Hitting road blocks straight on causes massive damage. Aim for the gap or crash through between cars.
Wreck the cops by hitting them while using turbo
Nitrous is particularly good uphill. Save it for the climbs.
Keep your target in front of you to lock on with EMP.
Hold the brake down longer for tighter bends
Stick to the inside of rival racers through turns. If anything goes wrong they'll pay, not you.
Shield your car by keeping another racer between you and the cops.
Shake off the cops by driving in oncoming traffic on the interstate.
If all else fails swerve and brake hard to avoid EMP.
Drop back and follow another racer for a safe route through road blocks
Heavier cars with high rideheight withstand more damage and go faster off road making them ideal for Hot Pursiut Races.
Take shortcuts, use turbo or use comms jammer to avoid getting hit by EMP
Spike Strips will spin your car out, cause damage and slow you down. Avoid them at all costs.
Wreck cops by hitting them while using turbo.
Drifting is a huge part of the game. Doing it correctly takes a lot of practice but it's worth it.


Cops
EMP stands for Electro magnetic pulse. Trigger it to lock onto another car and inflict damage.
Hit targets with a spike strip when they're right on top of you. Dont give them a chance to dodge it.
Hit Racers with weapons or your car to cause damage
Hit your target with EMP just before a turn to cause damage and smash them off the road.
Call in road blocks to damage racers and slow them down
Use nitrous to hit racers hard.
Be careful when slipstreaming other drivers they carry spike strips
Use your rear view mirror to line up spike strips.
Wreck racer vehicles to stop them and make an arrest.
Attack the slower vehicles first. The game has a weird catchup mechanic in which the AI slow down when you are trying to catch them. So arrest the back of the pack and then work your way to the front.
Use all of your equipment. It really helps slow the pack down.
