4 WAYS TO TELL YOUR CAT IS IN LABOR: #shorts
How to tell if your cat is in labor?

1. Being restless and vocal are among the first signs that your cat may be entering the labor stage. She will not be able to be still. Pacing and even hiding away from prying eyes is to be expected around these times.

2. Nesting, or at least trying to prepare her nesting box, can also be evidence of her feeling the onset of labor pains. Expect her to shred some cloth, rearrange some aspects of her box or just lay down and try to get comfortable.

3. Panting and slight signs of distress such as laying down and restless behavior should also be expected as your feline enters labor. Some cats may lay on or in their kittening box as they try to find a comfortable position.

4. Excessive grooming around her genitalia can also be an imminent indication of your cat going into labor. Expect some discharge from this area or even her water breaking. Some vocalization is to be expected during this time.

Try to be at hand when your cat displays these behaviors. Some of our feline friends are clingy and want their family to be with them when they give birth.
