Auf zu neuen Ufern! Da ein paar meiner einst fest eingeplanten Veranstaltungen im Frühjahr entweder nicht mehr existieren oder unattraktiv geworden sind, habe ich beschlossen, mir stattdessen ein paar Alternativen anzusehen. Dazu gehört auch die Plastik Modell Show Sachsen, über die ich bereits viel Gutes gehört habe!
Die Ausstellung wird gemeinsam von den Modellbauclubs aus Dresden und Riesa in einer an einem Möbelmarkt angeschlossenen Eventhalle abgehalten, was ich für ein sehr cleveres und tragfähiges Konzept halte. Diese Art der "Symbiose" zeigt mir, dass es auch ohne Gebühren und teure Eintrittstickets geht, was dem Hobby natürlich nur förderlich sein kann.
Besonders gut hat mir die Stimmung vor Ort gefallen. Überall wurde man freudig begrüßt und sogleich in die gesellige Runde integriert, das hat einen bleibenden Eindruck bei mir hinterlassen! Die Gespräche mit den neuen Bekanntschaften, Freunden und Fans taten gut und hätten alleine schon ausgereicht, um die Fahrt nach Sachsen mehr als zu rechtfertigen.
Zu meiner Freude war auch die modellbauerische Qualität der Show sehr hoch, vorallem im Wettbewerbsbereich, wo es einige echte Meisterstücke zu bewundern gab. Dank dieser sehr inspirierenden Werke kam mir sogleich manche neue Idee.
Nach diesem ersten Besuch und den vielen positiven Eindrücken kann ich mir durchaus vorstellen, dort eines Tages einmal selbst auszustellen. Man sieht sich also voraussichtlich wieder!

Heading for new shores! Since a couple of my favourite springtime model shows i used to attend no longer exist or became unattractive, i decided to have a look at a few alternatives. One of them is the Plastic Model Show Saxony, i heard many good things about that one already!
The show is hosted by the two model clubs of Dresden and Riesa inside a hall of a furniture market. I consider that to be a very clever and sustainable concept. This kind of "symbiosis" shows me that it can all be organized without any additional fees or expensive entry tickets, which is certainly beneficial for the hobby.
What i liked in particular was the great atmosphere there. Everyone greeted us with joy and we got integrated into the gang right away, that left a lasting impression on me! The conversations with the new acquaintances, friends and fans felt great, that alone would have easily justified the journey to Saxony.
To my delight the quality of the scale models on display was also very high, especially in the competition area, where one had the chance to admire many masterpieces. Thanks to these inspiring works i got a couple of new ideas for future projects.
After my first visit and all the positive impressions i can certainly see myself as an exhibitor there one day. There is a good chance to meet me there again in the future!
