Hello friends! Welcome to part two of my train journey across the United States from San Francisco to New York. Join me as I travel for a whopping 80 hours across the country by train. In part one of my journey, I boarded one of North Americas Most Scenic Trains Amtrak's California Zephyr. This three day sleeper train took me from San Francisco, across 7 different states, covering almost 4,000 km, eventually leaving me in Chicago. In todays episode, I take a brief transit Chicago's beautiful Union Station. Here, I enjoy five hours in the Metropolitan Lounge, before boarding the second train of my journey, The Lake Shore Limited.

I’ve once again booked the 'cheapest' sleeping accomodation for my 19 hours onboard, also known as Amtrak's Viewliner Roomette. I'll show you exactly what the experience is like, from start to finish! Let's check out the dining, my roomette and the amenities, such as the on board shower! All while passing some of the prettiest shorelines of the USA Lake Michigan, the Mohawk River, and the Erie Canal!
