African Grey
The African Grey Parrot, native to the rainforests of West and Central Africa, is renowned for its exceptional intelligence and ability to mimic human speech. They typically measure between 10 to 14 inches in length and can live up to 50 to 60 years in captivity. What I adore most about African Greys is their comical nature; they never fail to entertain with their playful antics and impressive vocabulary.

Timneh Parrots
Timneh Parrots, a subspecies of African Greys, hail from the moist forests of West Africa. Slightly smaller and darker than their counterparts, they have a calmer demeanor and are known for their affectionate personalities. Timnehs have a similar lifespan to African Greys and possess remarkable talking abilities, albeit with a gentler disposition that I find endearing.

Senegal Parrots
Senegal Parrots, originating from the woodlands and savannas of West Africa, are characterized by their vibrant plumage and compact size, typically reaching 9 to 10 inches in length. With a lifespan of 20 to 30 years, Senegals make delightful companions due to their sweet nature and inclination to form strong bonds with their owners.

Cape Parrot (In the US, we have a mix we call "Cape Parrot" of the Greyheaded parrot, and the Brownnecked parrot)
Cape Parrots, indigenous to South Africa, are the largest of the Poicephalus parrots, measuring around 13 to 14 inches in length. While they have the ability to mimic speech, what sets them apart is their exceptional bondforming capability and heightened awareness of their human companions. This deep connection is what I cherish most about Cape Parrots.
