2stroke Carburetor Tuning is fairly simple, all you need is a screwdriver for adjusting the pilot air screw, a strong kickstarter leg, and patience. When tuning your 2stroke carburetor, you typically want your dirt bike to idle as low as possible without dying, so if your dirt dies after startup or idle super high, you will need to adjust the idle on your carb.

Before you make any adjustment to the carburetor jetting, tune the idle to see if you need to change the jets at all.
