This actually worked. By studying nasty rats that were attacking my animals I could catch them by hand and finally came up with a trap that was working. I caught all 27 of them. Luckily my animals are save again. By the way... wild rats are NOTHING like pet rats.

about the squirrels... the one that had escaped is a new one... not so tame yet. And yes I believe squirrels should live in nature. Unfortunately these are born in captivity and can not survive on their own... beside it being illegal to set them free. This is for now the best home I can give them.

ps the pigeon is doing fine, some healing to do still but he'll fully recover
