A shop vac is a critical item for dust control in your workshop, but its deafening roar is a clear and present danger to domestic tranquility. This is a brief video explaining and demonstrating a sounddeadening cabinet I made in 2007 to control the noise from my shop vac. It works amazingly well; when it's in use in the basement, it's difficult to hear from ground floor, and just about impossible to hear from second flooor.
