The vehicle formally known as the EQG has been launched in Europe and the gobsmacking new 2024 MercedesBenz G 580 with EQ Technology (as it’s officially known) will arrive Down Under later this year as part of a facelifted GClass range that also comprises an upgraded MercedesAMG G 63.

It won’t be cheap, but the first allelectric GWagen will come bristling with advanced EV technology that makes it even more capable offroad, including its crowdpleasing Gturn, agilityboosting Gsteering and astonishing Offroad Crawl functions.

The new G 580e really is a hightech, goanywhere electric 4x4 offroader, as John Mahoney discovered at its global launch in France.
