Fans streamed into NRG Center Saturday, eager to see for themselves what the BarrettJackson Experience is all about in Texas – and they weren’t disappointed. The day was packed with action all around the site and in the auction arena.

The big stars of the day, of course, were in the spotlight on the auction stage! The topselling car on Saturday (and of the entire auction) was a 1979 @Porsche 928 used as the “hero car” in the film “Risky Business.” The crowd went wild when the iconic car sold for $1.98 million – making it the highestselling Porsche 928 ever sold at auction. Other incredible vehicles landing in the Top 10 on the last day of BarrettJackson’s very first Houston Auction included two stunning 2019 @ford GTs (a Lightweight model that sold for $1,199,000 and a Liquid Blue example that brought in $1,001,000), as well as a 1966 Shelby GT350 once raced and owned by Sir Stirling Moss that went to its new home for $495,000.

The electrifying atmosphere in the auction arena also resulted in more than a dozen new world auction record sales for the day, including a 1988 @BMW M3 E30 once belonging to actor Paul Walker ($154,000), a 2014 @bentleymotors Continental GTC Convertible ($192,500), a 1971 Plymouth Duster HEMI Custom Coupe ($123,200) and a 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 428 SCJ ($165,000).
