Last year we purchased a brand new 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon twodoor, and set it up to carry us on some of the most demanding trails in the West. My niece and her parents were visiting & staying at the same campground that we were enjoying just North of Durango. The night before over dinner we agreed that Black Bear Pass would be perfect for their VERY FIRST offroad Jeep wheeling adventure! So climb aboard with us as we crawl up the Black Bear Pass Road, crest its summit of over 12,000 feet, and then descend into Telluride via one of the most visually intimidating trails in the Southwest.

This is a long video, much longer than I would prefer. While I could have trimmed it down to meet my 15 minute standard, I felt it was more important to maintain continuity and to convey a sense that you are with us in the Jeep. Accordingly, several scenes are longer and that hopefully improves the realism factor. Rest assured that subsequent videos will be in my normal 15’ish minute range.

Every year we take our 2004 Bluebird Wanderlodge M380 motorhome on an allsummer excursion to escape the brutal heat of it’s winter home in the Desert Southwest.
