Containing 5,500 calories, this British Cold Weather 24hr MRE has more caloric content than any other individual ration currently in service. Doubling up on snacks, drinks, and desserts, it focuses on being low in protein and sodium, yet providing 1,500 more calories than the standard British ORP, accommodating for the extra calories burned in cold climates. And also to reduce risk of dehydration including extra drinks for encouraged fluid intake along with the body requiring less water to assimilate the fat and carb calories opposed to protein, which required more water to process.
