I had honestly never given a thought to any version of a Corolla since the dearly departed, RWD, AE86 variant, but maybe now is time to change that. The Corolla XRS was an unmarketed version of the econobox featuring the skyhigh revving 2ZZ 1.8L engine shared with the Lotus Elise and a manual gearbox! With a redline in the neighborhood of 8,000 RPM and three pedals, this thing is surprisingly fun to huck around the canyons.
