For thousands of years, inhabitants of the Indian subcontinent used different dog breeds for hunting, protecting and guarding, as war dogs and of course, as companions. Sadly, many ancient Indian breeds are on the verge of extinction these days, there are milions of stray dogs in India and often times the native Indian breeds are overlooked for foreign breeds. But these dogs are important part of the Indian culture and it is important to preserve them. Luckily, there are many dedicated breeders, who are trying to save these dogs and some of the dogs in this video are making a comeback lately and their numbers are slowly growing!
