Today was a big day that I was putting off. I got the Clymers manual and followed the steps to remove the front sprocket and inspect the countershaft spines. Unfortunately the countershaft doesn’t look great and now for an important decision… to leave it for now and see how long it lasts or to pull the motor and replace the countershaft.
